Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival in Chisinau – City Tour

Arrive at Chisinau International Airport. Meet your guide and proceed to the city center for your first  impressions of Moldova’s charming capital.  

Today, you will enjoy a city tour in Chisinau. Chisinau is the main administrative, scientific and cultural center  of Moldova. During the tour, you will discover pieces of history and culture of the city such as the Nativity of  Christ Cathedral, the Bell Tower, the Arch of Triumph, the Monument of Stephen the Great, etc.  An important role in terms of architecture development had the famous architect Alessandro Bernardazzi.   Overnight in Chisinau. 

Day 2

Monasteries, Old Orhei & Cricova Wine Cellars

Breakfast at the hotel  

Transfer to Curchi. Excursion at Curchi Monastery The complex of the Curchi Monastery is surrounded by a  high stone wall endowed with towers at each corner, creating the image of a fortress. The main church, built  in 1810, has a monumental look, enhanced with baroque elements, yet keeping Moldavian traditional style.  Transfer to Orheiul Vechi. Excursion at Orheiul Vechi - a 40 thousand year-old natural amphitheater. Orheiul  Vechi (Old Orhei) is the most visited attraction in Moldova which envisages a natural amphitheater revealing  a territory which was first inhabited 40 000 years ago. Orheiul Vechi includes a series of historical and cultural  monuments as well as natural landscapes in the gorge of the Raut River. Ancient fortifications, cave  monasteries, monks and hermits – here you can follow the history of this region. The originality of the  landscape is due to the gorge of the Raut River, dug under the form of a canyon in the limestone layers of the  former Sarmatian Sea, about 14  million years ago.  

Lunch at Butuceni Guest House Here  you will experience local specialties,  as “zeama”, “mamaliga”, and  “scrob”, along with traditional pastry  and homemade wine.  

Excursion and wine tasting at Cricova  Cellers Cricova winery is the only  wine enterprise that was awarded  the highest state prize “The Order of  the Republic” and has been declared  by law a national cultural heritage.  

During the excursion at Cricova  winery in the tourist train, at a depth  of 80 m, you will discover the wonders of this place. Cricova underground galleries are formed by over seventy  streets covering an area of nearly 120 km, each bearing Bacchic names: Sauvignon, Cabernet, Cahors, etc. The  jewel of the underground treasure is the National Collection, including over 600 types of wine totaling about  1 million bottles. Here you will admire the oldest bottle of wine - "Jewish Easter Wine", dating from 1902 and  discover the tastes of Cricova wines. Return to Chisinau.  

Day 3

Transnistria – Tighina Fortress

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Tighina.  

Excursion at Tighina Fortress This is the old medieval fort of Tighina Fortress, which was first built in the 15-16'th Centuries  by the princes of Moldavia. Occupied by the  Ottomans in 1538 (in a campaign lead by the  Sultan Soliman the Magnificent), the fort  was strengthened in 1541 and became the  center of an Ottoman "raya" (in which were  included the surrounding Moldavian  villages). Its walls and rounded towers still stand today. Excursion and caviar tasting at  Aquatir Sturgeon Farm In Tiraspol, there is one of the largest fish hatcheries in Europe.  

The factory is equipped with the latest technologies and the fish can reach the size of a man. You will get the chance to see how is processed some of the most expensive culinary delights – caviar.  

Lunch at „Back to the USSR” restaurant Excursion in Tiraspol - Back to the USSR In Tiraspol you will have the opportunity to travel in time back to USSR. You will start by visiting the monument of Vladimir Lenin and tanks left from the Second  World War. The city seems to be a ghost of the Soviet past.  

Return to Chisinau. Dinner at the restaurant and transfer to Chisinau airport. Depart to Tbilisi. Meeting at  Tbilisi airport. Transfer to the hotel. Free time.  

Day 4

Tbilisi sightseeing tour -Sarajishvili Brandy Factory

Start the day with a walking tour of Old Tbilisi. Discover Narikala Fortress and wander through winding streets  filled with history and charm. Visit preserved heritage homes and experience the city’s cultural diversity.  Visit the Tbilisi Wine Museum, showcasing Georgia’s 8,000 -year-old wine tradition. For lunch, head to “8000  Vintages,” a well-known wine bar that highlights the best of Georgia’s wine regions. In the afternoon, tour  the historic Sarajishvili Brandy Factory, the first in the Russian Empire with the right to label its product as  “cognac.” Conclude your day with dinner at a traditional restaurant in Tbilisi’s Old Town, accompanied by live  Georgian folk music. Overnight in Tbilisi.  

Day 5

Tbilisi - Uplistsikhe – Gori – Mtskheta – Tbilisi (lunch at a local family wine cellar)

After breakfast, drive to Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-hewn city with tunnels, cave dwellings, and early Christian  churches that reveal Georgia’s deep past. Continue to Gori to visit the Stalin Museum and hear unique local perspectives about the Soviet leader born here. Enjoy lunch at a local family wine cellar, where your hosts will introduce you to traditional winemaking and local grape varieties. 

In the afternoon, visit Mtskheta, the spiritual heart of Georgia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and Jvari Monastery, perched above the confluence of rivers with panoramic views. Hear ancient legends about this once ethnically diverse capital. Finish the day with a  traditional dinner. Overnight in Tbilisi.  

Day 6

Border - Dilijan - Sevanavank - Yerevan - City tour

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to the border. Meet the Armenian guide and change the car at the border. Drive to  Dilijan. Settled in Tavush Region, Dilijan is known as “Armenian Switzerland”. Excursion in the town. Then drive  to Sevan, is the largest body o f water in both Armenia and the Caucasus region. Visiting Sevanavank Monastery.  Drive to Yerevan. Check in at the hotel. Meet the guide in the hotel lobby. Starting your evening with a guided  Yerevan city tour. The first stop is Cascade Complex: A massive stairway and open - air museum with sculptures  and panoramic views of the city and Mount Ararat. We will also visit Opera House & Northern Avenue: Elegant  part of town with cafés and shopping centers. Visiting Republic Square and Vernissage Market for souvenirs.

Day 7

Yerevan – Khor Virap – Areni – Noravank – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Starting the tour from Khor Virap Monastery, a stunning monastery with views of Mount  Ararat. It’s an important religious  site, where Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned. The site is both peaceful and historically significant.  

After that, stop at local winery to taste the diversity of Armenian wines. Then, explore the Areni Cave, which is known as one of the oldest wine making sites in the world, Areni Cave dates back thousands of years. You can learn about the winemaking process and try different varieties, enjoying the unique flavors of  the region. Finally, enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Noravank, known for its red cliffs and beautiful  landscapes. The trip ends back in Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel.  

Day 8

Yerevan –ArArAt Brandy Museum - Echmiadzin -Zvartnots-Armenia wine museum - Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. You will start the day with visiting the famous Ararat Brandy Factory to learn about  Armenian brandy making traditions and of course tasting some varieties of brandy! Then drive to Echmiadzin  Cathedral: The spiritual heart of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Built in 301 AD, it's considered the world’s  oldest cathedral and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Echmiadzin is often called the “Vatican of Armenia.” After the excursion you will visit Zvartnots Cathedral Ruins. A unique circular 7thcentury cathedral, now in ruins, offering a glimpse into early medieval Armenian architecture. Continue with a visit to the Armenia Wine Museum, where you'll discover the rich history of winemaking in Armenia, one of the world’s oldest wine-producing regions.  

Return to Yerevan. Free time in city center.  

After tour transfer to Zvartonts International Airport for departure.
