Upon arrival at Zvartnots International Airport, guests are transferred to a centrally located hotel in Yerevan. The visit begins with a walking tour featuring the city's main attractions such as the Cascade, the Opera House, and Republic Square. Key stops include the Matenadaran, housing an extensive collection of ancient manuscripts, and the Genocide Museum at Tsitsernakaberd.

The following day, after breakfast, the journey continues to the UNESCO-listed Geghard Monastery, renowned for its rock-cut churches and tombs. The tour also includes a visit to Garni, Armenia’s only pagan temple, showcasing mosaic baths and palace ruins.

On the third day, guests travel to the ruins of Zvartnots Temple, a magnificent seventh-century circular cathedral and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Depending on availability, a visit to the Vernissage arts and crafts market may also be included.

The next day's itinerary leads to the Khor Virap Monastery near Mount Ararat, a significant pilgrimage site where St. Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned. The tour then proceeds to Jermuk, a popular resort town known for its mineral waters.

Day six begins with a trip to Tatev Monastery, set in dramatic landscapes and accessible via the world’s longest ropeway, "the Wings of Tatev." The night is spent in Goris.

Travel continues to Gandzasar to visit its fully restored monastery with exquisite carvings. The day also includes a visit to the ancient ruins of Tigranakert before heading to Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh.

In Stepanakert, the itinerary includes exploring the scenic Hunot Canyon. On the return trip to Yerevan, guests enjoy a barbeque in the great outdoors, enhancing the cultural experience.

Guests have a free day in Yerevan to explore the city at their leisure before departure, concluding with an early breakfast and a transfer to the airport on the final day. This journey provides a comprehensive overview of Armenia's rich historical sites and vibrant culture.

Itineraries

Day 1

Meeting at "Zvartnots" International airport. Transfer to a centrally located hotel. Yerevan City tour

Meeting the guests and accommodating at the hotel. Walking tour across the main streets, the Cascade, the Opera House, the Republic Square. Visit Vernissage (in case its open) Visit Matenadaran – one of the largest depositories of ancient manuscripts in the world. Afterwards the guests will visit Genocide Museum – Tsitsernakaberd. Return back to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 2

Yerevan - Garni – Geghard – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to the monastery of Geghard (IV-XIII centuries) with its remarkable rock-cut churches and tombs. The complex is an exceptionally well preserved and complete example of medieval Armenian monastic architecture. Geghard is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. You will continue your way to Garni – the only pagan temple in Armenia, where you can admire the unique mosaic baths and ruins of the royal palace. Return back to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 3

Yerevan – Zvartnots - Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Zvartnots temple, a ruined seventh century circular Armenian cathedral (641-653) – another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ride back to Yerevan. (Visit vernissage in case of it was closed on the first day) Overnight at the hotel

Day 4

Yerevan - Khor Virap - Jermuk

Breakfast at the hotel. You will be led through the plains of the Ararat valley to the magnificent monastery of Khor Virap, set against the backdrop of towering Mount Ararat. The monastery is a place of pilgrimage and is the site of the prison where St. Gregory the Illuminator (who brought Christianity to Armenia in 301 AD) was imprisoned. Continue your way to Jermuk – our popular resort. Overnight

Jarmuk - Tatev Monastery – Goris

Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to Tatev Monastery which is itself is a sight to visit. The Monastery was founded in the 9th century. Here you will not only feel the spiritual atmosphere but also have the chance to use the longest ropeway in the world – “the Wings of Tatev”. Overnight in Goris

Day 7

Goris – Gandzasar – Tigranakert – Stepanakert

Breakfast at the hotel in Goris. Trip to Gandzasar, visit the monastery of Kharabagh. Located in the north, a top the green hill which climbs above the village of Vank, it has been restored and is a fully functioning monastery. Gandzasar has some of the nicest carvings.

Continue to Tigranakert. Tigranakert is a ruined Armenian city dating back to the Hellenistic period. It is one of several former cities in the Armenian plateau with the same name, named in honor of the Armenian king Tigran the Great. Afterwards you will be led to Stepanakert – the capital and the largest city of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Overnight.

Day 8

Stepanakert – Hunot Canyon

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Hunot Canyon, so called “the umbrella’s”. Overnight.

Day 9

Stepanakert – Yerevan – Overnight

Having barbeque in free nature on the way back to Yerevan
