Climate

The climate in Armenia is mainly continental. Summers are dry and sunny, lasting from June to mid-September however the low humidity level mitigates the effect of high temperature. Winters are rather cold with plenty of snow, with temperatures ranging between -10 and +5 °C (14 and 23 °F). Spring comes too early in Armenia, in April the temperature is above +20 °C. The monetary unit of the Republic of Armenia is Dram (AMD). Shops, banks are dealing in Dram. Although some shops now accept credit cards too. There are many ATMs where you can withdraw money as well as currency exchange spots in Yerevan and in the regions. All kinds of credit cards are accepted both in Banks and hotels.

Armenian Cuisine

Armenian cuisine is unique: it mainly uses organic foods, vegetables which give our dishes piquant taste. Armenian cuisine is different from other regional cuisines. For instance, it uses fresh ingredients more usual than spices. Also, Armenians extensively use dried fruits and nuts in dishes. The cuisine reflects not only the history and geography where Armenians have lived as well as it incorporates outside influences. There are many restaurants in the capital city of Armenia ranging from European cuisine to Asian cuisine.

Public Transportation

Different means of transportation are available in Armenia. Metro is situated in Yerevan (100 AMD per person, $0, 25). There are also many taxis (1 Km is $2), microbuses and buses (100 AMD per person, ~ $0, 25).
