Yerevan Wine Days is an annual festival held in Yerevan, Armenia, celebrating the country's rich wine culture and heritage. The festival offers a fantastic opportunity to eat, drink, dance, and discover the rich wine culture of Armenia. It's a celebration of joy, flavors, and traditions where you can indulge in delicious food, sample exquisite wines, dance to lively music, and uncover the beauty of Armenian winemaking. Dive into a fun adventure in Armenia, starting on June 7, 2024. Your trip kicks off with a warm welcome and a cool evening tour in Yerevan. Picture walking around Republic Square, checking out big buildings, and climbing up the Cascade to see the city sparkle below you. Imagine strolling down busy streets, feeling the vibe of the place, and ending your night watching dancing fountains light up to music. It's like the city is throwing a welcome party just for you!

The next morning, after breakfast, get ready for a day full of awesome sights. First stop: Geghard Monastery, tucked in a rocky landscape and so old it's protected by UNESCO. Then, it's off to Garni to see an ancient temple that looks like it's straight out of a history book. Wrap up your sightseeing with a visit to Lake Sevan, a huge, beautiful lake that's like a giant mirror reflecting the sky.

But the real fun starts in the evening with the Wine Days Festival. Imagine sipping on Armenia's best wines, munching on tasty food, and grooving to music under the stars. It's a chance to chill, chat with locals, and really soak in the Armenian party spirit.

On June 9, after one last breakfast, it's time to say goodbye. You head to the airport, your bags full of souvenirs and your heart full of memories from this whirlwind Armenian adventure. You're not just taking home photos; you're bringing back stories of a place where every day was something new and exciting.

Itineraries

Day 1

ARRIVAL IN YEREVAN. EVENING TOUR OF YEREVAN

Duration: 3-4 hours  

Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport. Transfer and check-in at the hotel. Free time. 16:00-19:00 Sightseeing tour  of Yerevan. During the tour, you will immerse yourself in the atmosphere of ancient Armenian history and enjoy the  beauty of the city, which combines ancient monuments and modern architecture. The tour will begin with an  introduction to the city center, which includes Republic Square, government buildings, Northern Avenue, and the  Opera and Ballet Building. Next, we will take a walk along the Cascade. This is an open-air park-museum, where  truly impressive examples of modern sculptural art are presented. Incidentally, this is the only park in the world  where two works by the famous sculptor Fernando Botero are on display.  

Kond, the oldest and most unique district of Yerevan, will open the doors to the undiscovered world of the  underground city. A walk through its narrow streets and small courtyards with oriental flavor will take you back to  the 18th century, revealing new facets of the capital. Here, distinctive 17th-century buildings, created without the  involvement of architects, have been preserved, making it a unique reserve of vernacular architecture. Exploring  the winding cobbled streets and colorful courtyards where neighboring families live will give you a unique  experience of getting to know the unusual Yerevan.

Day 2

YEREVAN – GEGHARD – GARNI

Duration: 5-6 hours.  

Excursion to Geghard Monastery (UNESCO World Heritage Site) located in the Kotayk region. The monastery  complex was built in the 12th-13th centuries. Originally, the monastery was called Hayrivank, which means “cave  monastery.” Trip to the Garni Temple, the only surviving Greco-Roman building with columns in Armenia. It is the  most famous structure and symbol of pre-Christian Armenia.  

Lunch at a local village house with the opportunity to watch the process of baking Armenian bread - lavash (UNESCO  intangible heritage) - on hot stones in a toniir, a treat of traditional homemade dishes with homemade vodka made  from various fruits.  

You can also enjoy the “Symphony of Stones,” an amazing natural formation of basalt columns in the Azat Valley,  creating an impressive and picturesque landscape. Return to Yerevan. Overnight at a hotel in Yerevan.  

Day 3

YEREVAN – ECHMIADZIN – ZVARTNOTS – GARNI

Meet your guide at 10:00. Visit Zvartnots, a medieval Armenian cathedral near  

Echmiadzin, built in the 7th century and now in ruins. Trip to Echmiadzin – the main temple of the Armenian  Apostolic Church, located in the city also known as Echmiadzin or Vagharshapat. It is usually considered the first  cathedral built in Ancient Armenia and even the oldest cathedral in the world. Next, visit the Echmiadzin Treasures  Museum, located in the southeastern part of the cathedral. Unique holy relics and religious works of art are  currently kept in the museum. Next, visit the Wine History Museum. Tour of the museum.  

In the evening, you will participate in the Yerevan Wine Days festival, where you will be accompanied by our guide.  You will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional Armenian food, drinks, music, and experience the real atmosphere  of the festival.
