Sep 27: Arrival

Departure from Venice and arrival in Yerevan at 22:20. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Opera Suite Hotel, where you will check in and settle in for the night after your journey.

Sep 28: Yerevan City Tour - Ararat Brandy - Armenian Carpet Making Master Class

Breakfast at the hotel before heading out to explore Yerevan. Your day begins with a Yerevan city tour, where you will discover Yerevan’s rich history, wide avenues, and distinctive architecture while visiting some of its most iconic spots, including Cascade Complex with its beautiful views over the city, and Republic Square, known for its impressive design and lively atmosphere.

Lunch will be at a local restaurant, giving you a chance to enjoy traditional Armenian cuisine, followed by some time to relax and unwind.

Continue with a visit to Ararat Brandy Factory, where you will learn about the history of Armenian brandy, followed by a degustation to taste some of its well-known varieties.

The day continues with an Armenian carpet-making master class, where you will see traditional techniques and have a chance to experience this important part of local culture.

Dinner will be served at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Sep 29: Yerevan - Matenadaran - Geghard Monastery - Garni Temple - Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Start your day with a visit to the Matenadaran, one of the world’s richest repositories of ancient manuscripts. Here you can explore a remarkable collection of historical texts and illuminated works that reflect Armenia’s deep cultural and intellectual heritage. The museum also features a fascinating restoration department, where specialists carefully preserve and restore centuries-old manuscripts using traditional techniques.

Then head to Geghard Monastery, one of Armenia’s most famous monasteries. Partly carved into the cliffs, it is surrounded by stunning mountains and has a peaceful atmosphere. You can explore its ancient chapels, intricate stone carvings, and learn about its rich history and religious significance.

Continue to a local gastroyard for a lavash master class, where you can try making traditional Armenian bread and watch how khorovats (Armenian barbecue) is prepared before enjoying a delicious lunch.

After lunch, head to Garni Temple, the only Greco-Roman style temple in Armenia. Built on a hill overlooking the Azat River Gorge, it offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys and is a fine example of ancient Armenian architecture.

After the visit, return to Yerevan. Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying a lovely dinner in the city.

Sep 30: Yerevan - History Museum - Haghpat - Akhtala - Dilijan

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the History Museum, where you can discover Armenia’s past from prehistoric times to the modern era through archaeological artifacts, traditional items, and fascinating exhibits that tell the story of the Armenian people.

Next, you will depart from Yerevan and begin your journey toward the Lori region, home to some of Armenia’s most remarkable historical and cultural treasures.

Your first stop will be Haghpat Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site founded in the 10th century. Perched on a scenic hillside, Haghpat is known for its serene atmosphere, classic Armenian architectural style, and beautifully carved khachkars. It once served as a major center of religious learning and manuscript production.

Next, you will continue to Akhtala Monastery, a 10th-13th century fortress-monastery renowned for its defensive walls and towers. Beyond its military strength, Akhtala was also a vibrant cultural hub that attracted scholars and artists, making it a unique blend of medieval architecture, art, and spirituality.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant during the day.

After your visits, you will drive to Dilijan, often referred to as the “Armenian Switzerland,” surrounded by lush forests and mountains. Upon arrival, you will check in at your hotel, enjoy dinner at the hotel, and relax.

Overnight stay in Dilijan.

Oct 1: Dilijan - Sevanavank - Lake Sevan - Noratus Cemetery - Zorats Karer - Goris

Breakfast at the hotel in Dilijan, followed by check-out. You will then begin your journey through some of Armenia’s most scenic landscapes and historic sites.

Your first stop will be Sevanavank Monastery, perched on a hilltop and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The serene atmosphere makes it an ideal place to relax and take photos.

Afterward, you will descend to Lake Sevan, where you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with beautiful views of the lake.

Next, continue to Noratus Cemetery, the largest khachkar cemetery in Armenia. Walking among the intricately carved stone crosses, you will experience a unique open-air museum that reflects centuries of Armenian faith, artistry, and cultural tradition.

The journey then takes you across Selim Pass, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Continue onward to Zorats Karer (also known as the Armenian Stonehenge), where you can explore the mysterious standing stones and learn about their possible astronomical significance.

Finally, drive to Goris, known for its dramatic rock formations and scenic mountain surroundings. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel, enjoy dinner, and relax. Overnight stay in Goris.

Oct 2: Goris - Tatev Ropeway - Tatev Monastery - Khndzoresk - Goris

Breakfast at the hotel. You will start the day exploring the beautiful region around Goris. The first highlight is a ride on the Tatev Ropeway, one of the longest cable cars in the world, offering stunning views of the Vorotan Gorge and surrounding landscapes.

Next, you will visit Tatev Monastery, a 9th-century architectural masterpiece that served as an important religious, educational, and cultural center in medieval Armenia. The monastery’s hilltop location provides breathtaking views of the surrounding gorge and mountains, making it a perfect spot for photos and reflection.

Continue to Khndzoresk Cave Village, an extraordinary settlement carved into cliffs, where people once lived in cave homes. You can walk across the famous swinging bridge over the gorge and explore the narrow paths of the village, imagining life in this ancient, cliffside community. Lunch and dinner will be at local restaurants during the day, giving you a taste of regional cuisine. After the visits, you will drive to Goris for an overnight stay at a hotel.

Oct 3: Goris - Noravank - Areni Cave - Old Bridge - Khor Virap - Yerevan

After breakfast at your hotel in Goris, you will check out and begin your journey north toward Yerevan.

Your first stop will be Noravank Monastery, beautifully set within a narrow canyon surrounded by striking red cliffs. Here, you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and impressive medieval architecture.

Continue to Areni Cave, an important archaeological site where some of the world’s oldest known winemaking facilities were discovered, along with the oldest preserved leather shoe.

Afterwards, you will stop at the Old Bridge Winery, a peaceful and scenic spot where you will take a short break and enjoy a wine tasting experience, sampling a selection of local wines in a relaxed natural setting.

The journey continues with a visit to Khor Virap Monastery, one of Armenia’s most significant religious sites. From here, you can admire breathtaking views of Mount Ararat and learn about its deep connection to Armenia’s adoption of Christianity.

Lunch will be arranged at a local restaurant during the day, offering time to relax before continuing your journey.

After the day’s visits, you will drive to Yerevan. Upon arrival, you will check in at your hotel for an overnight stay.

Oct 4: Yerevan - Tsitsernakaberd - Echmiadzin - Zvartnots - Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.

Start with a visit to Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex, the solemn and moving memorial dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Take time to explore the monuments and museum, reflecting on Armenia’s history and resilience.

Next, enjoy a shujukh master class with lunch, where you will learn how to prepare this traditional Armenian sweet sausage. You will also have the chance to taste the freshly prepared dishes, experiencing authentic local flavors and culinary traditions.

After lunch, visit Etchmiadzin Cathedral, the spiritual center of the Armenian Apostolic Church and one of the oldest cathedrals in the world.

Then continue to Zvartnots Cathedral Ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its impressive circular architecture and ancient history.

Afterwards head to the airport. Departure at 22:55.
