The itinerary includes visits to significant landmarks such as the Matenadaran, home to a vast collection of medieval manuscripts, and the spiritual centers of Holly Echmiadzin and the Zvartnots temple.

Explorations extend to Khor Virap, with its stunning views of Mount Ararat, and Noravank Monastery, known for its unique architecture. A visit to the bustling fruit markets of Yerevan, the Parajanov Museum, and the only pagan temple in Armenia, the Garni Temple, offers a glimpse into the country's rich cultural heritage. The tour culminates with the Independence Day celebration in the Republic Square, following an inspiring visit to Lake Sevan, the "Blue Pearl" of Armenia, renowned for its breathtaking beauty and historical Sevanavank Monastery.

Independence Day is an official holiday in Armenia. After 70 years in Soviet Union, the Republic of Armenia restored its independence in 1991. The festival gathers people of all age groups and backgrounds. Families and couples come to enjoy the variety of kids’ activities, to listen to the live music and traditional songs and to dance. Itineraries

Day 1

Yerevan – Aghveran

After having arrived at the “Zvartnots” International Airport, you will be met by us and accompanied to Yerevan, capital of Armenia. Yerevan, with 2795 year history, is one of the oldest cities in the world. A 2-hours city tour of Yerevan, in a comfortable bus, will force your first impressions of the city. Transfer to Best Western “Aghveran” hotel situated on a steep mountain slope. The hotel that was built recently has full services that will make your vacations comfortable. Overnight.

Day 2

Aghveran – Yerevan - Echmiadzin – Zvartnots - Aghveran

After breakfast visit to Matenadaran, Armenia’s state repository of ancient manuscripts, which holds one of the world’s richest depositories of medieval manuscripts and books which span a broad range of subjects, including literature on history, philosophy, medicine, art history and cosmography in Armenian and other languages. After Matenadaran you will make a trip to Holly Echmiadzin – the main seat of the Catholicos of All Armenians. Later you will visit Zvartnots. Overnight at the Aghveran Hotel

Day 3

Aghveran – Khor Virap – Noravank - Aghveran

The breakfast in the hotel will be followed by a breathtaking trip to Khor Virap, The Khor Virap (meaning «deep dungeon») monastery is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Armenia. It stands before the snowcapped flanks of Mountain Ararat offering a spectacular view of the mountain, the national symbol of Armenia. The next stop is Noravank. The monastery is best known for its two-storey S. Astvatsatsin church with an access to the second floor by way of narrow stones jutting out from the face of building. Day 4

Aghveran – Yerevan - Aghveran

Transfer to Yerevan. Visit to one of the popular among tourists and local people fruit markets with delicious variety of fruits and vegetables. Then trip to Parajanov Museum, one of the most visited museums, that creates unforgettable impressions. Sergei Parajanov is a famous director and artist. Parajanov museum represents Parajanov’s diverse artistic and literary heritage. Free day in Yerevan. Overnight in Aghveran

Day 5

Aghveran – Geghard – Garni - Aghveran

Breakfast at the hotel. A tour to Geghard, another ancient Armenian monastery, entirely carved out of a mountain, will be followed by a visit to the magnificent “temple of the Sun” in Garni, the only pagan temple in Armenia, where you can admire the unique mosaic baths and ruins of the Royal palace. Here in Garni you will bake yourselves lavash in a traditional wood burning oven with the cook and taste them. In the evening you will join the celebration of Independence Day in the Republic Square. Overnight in the Aghveran Hotel

Day 6

Aghveran – Sevan - Aghveran

In the morning, immediately after the breakfast, 4-hours visit to the lake Sevan regarded as “the Blue Pearl” of Armenia, will be organized. Sevan is one of the largest alpine lakes in the world situated at the altitude of 1896 meters above sea level. On clear and sunny days it looks like a piece of sky that have descended to the earth among the mountains. A visit to the Sevanavank monastery located on the Northwestern shore of Lake Sevan. According to an inscription in one of the churches, it was founded in 874 AD by the Princess Mariam. Return back to the “Aghveran” hotel. Overnight

Day 7

Aghveran - Yerevan
