Your Armenian odyssey commences with a heartfelt greeting at Zvartnots International Airport, leading to an immersive dining experience at a traditional Armenian restaurant in Yerevan. The next day is a whirlwind tour of Yerevan, showcasing its vibrant City Center, Republic Square, and the Opera House, enhanced by a stroll around the Cascade and visits to the Cafesjian Center of the Arts and Echmiadzin, the spiritual nucleus of Armenia. A contemplative journey through Zvartnots and the Museum of Genocide Tsitsernakaberd precedes a tasting of the revered "Ararat" brandy, culminating in a dinner at the club “In Vino”.

Day three ventures into the plains of the Ararat valley, exploring the historic Khor Virap Monastery and the breathtaking Noravank, with a wine tasting interlude in Areni village before retiring in Goris. The following day is dedicated to archaeological wonders and natural beauty, from the ancient Karahunj site to the cave settlement of Khndzoresk and the majestic Tatev Monastery, including a visit to the Vayots Dzor wine region and an Armenian culinary master class.

The journey continues through the scenic Selim Pass to the tranquil expanse of Lake Sevan, visiting the Sevanavank Monastery, and then on to Dilijan, the "Swiss of Armenia", to explore Goshavank Monastery amid the lush landscapes. The expedition draws near its conclusion with a visit to the UNESCO-listed Geghard Monastery and the Garni temple, returning to Yerevan for the night.

Your final morning in Armenia begins with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a transfer to the airport, marking the end of a memorable journey through the rich cultural tapestry and majestic landscapes of Armenia, leaving you with a treasure trove of experiences and memories.

Itineraries

Day 1

Meeting at “Zvartnots” Inernational Airport

Dinner at a traditional Armenian restaurant. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 2

Yerevan City Tour – Echmiadzin – Zvartnots – Genocide museum – Yerevan Brandy factory –In Vino

Breakfast at the hotel. City tour in the Pink Town of Alexander Tamanyan (1878- 1936). During the tour you will see the City Center, the Republic Square, the Opera House. You will also walk around in the Cascade where you will see the sculptures of the famous Fernando Boterro, Barry Flanagan, etc. Visit to Cafesjian Center of the Arts and the panorama of the Cascade where you will see the beauty of our city. Trip to Echmiadzin – the administrative center of the Armenian Apostolic Church. It is the holy city of Armenia. It was in 301 when the Christianity was adopted as a state religion. Lunch in art center called “Armenian Unity”. On the way back to Yerevan you will visit to Zvartnots – the so-called “Temple of Ruins”. Afterwards you will visit the Museum of Genocide Tsitsernakaberd and Yerevan Brandy Factory. Here you will taste “Ararat” brandy. In the evening you will go to for dinner to the club “In Vino”. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 3

Yerevan – Khor Virap – Areni – Noravank – Goris

Breakfast at the hotel. We will be led through the plains of the Ararat valley to the magnificent monastery of Khor Virap set against the backdrop of towering Mount Ararat. The monastery is a place of pilgrimage and is the site of the prison where St. Gregory the Illuminator (who brought Christianity to Armenia in 301 AD) was imprisoned. We will continue our way to Noravank. The monastery is best known for its two-stored S. Astvatsatsin church, which grants access to the second floor by way of narrow stones jutting out from the face of building. Visit to Areni village where you will taste our tasty Armenian wines. Continue your way to Goris. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4

Goris – Khndzoresk – Tatev Monastery – Karahunj – Eghegnadzor

Breakfast at the hotel. Tour to one of the best known and most interesting archeological landmarks in Armenia – Karahunj, often called “Zorats Karer”. According to alternative theory this is world’s oldest astronomical observatory, built in the 6th millenia BC. On the east side of Goris is Khndzoresk. It is an ancient cave settlement which remained occupied until a few decades ago. The nature here is just marvelous. Other than its surroundings, the Tatev Monastery itself is a sight to see. Tatev Monastery was founded in the 9th century. The revival of this medieval monastery is the principal goal of the Tatev Revival Project under which the Wings of Tatev Aerial Tramway was built. It is the longest ropeway in the world. Lunch place – national Armenian dishes. Trip to Vayots Dzor – wine region of Armenia. Master class of Armenian national dishes. Overnight.

Day 5

Eghegnadzor – Selim passage – Lake Sevan – Goshavank – Dilijan

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Selim Pass for visiting the caravanserai (XIV c.) which used to be an important trade point in the famous Silk Road. Continue your way to Lake Sevan. It is one of the high-altitude lakes in the world situated at the altitude of 1896 meters above the sea level. On clear and sunny days it looks like a piece of sky that has descended to the earth among the mountains. A visit to Sevanavank Monastery located on the Northwestern shore of Lake Sevan. According to an inscription in one of the churches, it was founded in 874 AD by Princess Mariam. Arrival at Dilijan – small Swiss of Armenia. Visit to Goshavank – a Monastery which gives a special look to Dilijan region. It is situated in dense oak woods, in the gorges of small but steep mountain fallings. There is also a unique Khachkar which is worth seeing. Dinner and overnight at a 4* hotel in Dilijan.

Day 6

Dilijan – Geghard – Garni - Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to the monastery of Geghard (IV-XIII centuries) with its remarkable rock-cut churches and tombs. The complex is an exceptionally well preserved and complete example of medieval Armenian monastic architecture. Geghard is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. You will continue your way to Garni – the only pagan temple in Armenia, where you can admire the unique mosaic baths and ruins of the royal palace. Lunch in a very nice place surrounded with rich nature. Return back to Yerevan. Overnight.

Day 7

Departure Day
