The itinerary begins with a warm welcome at Zvartnots International Airport, leading to an explorative Yerevan City tour that highlights the Opera House, Republic Square, and the Matenadaran, housing over 100,000 ancient manuscripts. The day concludes with a short walking tour around the Cascade and a visit to the Cafesjian Center for Modern Arts, followed by an overnight stay at a centrally located hotel.

Day 1

Meeting at Zvartnots International airport – Yerevan City tour

During the Yerevan City tour, you will see our main streets, the Opera House, the Republic Square, visit Matenadaran, which is one of the richest and fascinating depositories of ancient manuscripts and books in the world. The collection now numbers over 100,000 manuscripts, documents, and fragments and dates back to 405, when Saint Mesrop Mashtots created the Armenian alphabet. Short walking tour around the Cascade, visit to Cafesjian center of Modern Arts will complete this remarkable day. Accommodation at a centrally located hotel. Overnight.

Day 2

Yerevan – Geghard – Garni – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to Geghard Monastery – a unique architectural monument, founded in the 4th century, partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, surrounded by cliffs and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will continue your way to Garni, the only pagan temple in Armenia, where you can admire the unique mosaic baths and ruins of the royal palace. “Symphony of Stones” natural monument, located near Garni Temple, (35 km North of Yerevan) is unique for its volcanic basalt columns of various sizes, which look like a structure, that is why the monument is called “Symphony of Stones”. Lunch in a rustic family surrounding. Return back to Yerevan.

Day 3

Yerevan – Lake “Parz Lich” – Goshavank – Yenokavan

Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to “Parz Lich” Walking tour to Goshavank Monastery. Lunch. Transfer to Yenokavan. Accommodation at the cottages. Dinner. Rest around the fire. Overnight.

Day 4

Yenokavan -Lastiver

Breakfast at the hotel. You will have a walking trip around Yenokavan, Lastiver. Lunch. Horse riding in the mountains. Master class of Armenian traditional dishes. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 5

Khor Virap – Noravank – “Bird’s Cave” – Areni – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. We will be led through the plains of the Ararat valley to the magnificent monastery of Khor Virap set against the backdrop of towering Mount Ararat. The monastery is a place of pilgrimage and is the site of the prison where St. Gregory the Illuminator (who brought Christianity to Armenia in 301 AD) was imprisoned. We will continue our way to Noravank. The monastery is best known for its two-stored S. Astvatsatsin church, which grants access to the second floor by way of narrow stones jutting out from the face of building. Lunch. Tour to the “Bird’s Cave” where Armenian and English scientists have found ancient leather shoes. You will also visit Areni to taste Armenian wines. Return back to Yerevan. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 6

Lake “Kar Lich” – Saghmosavank – Amberd – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to the Lake “Kar Lich” at the height of 3200 m. above the sea level. On the way visit to the Monastery Saghmosvank. Lunch. Walking tour to the castle Amberd. Visit to the ruins. Return back to Yerevan. Farewell dinner. Overnight.
