Day 1

Meeting at “Zvartnots” International airport

Transfer to a centrally located hotel. Overnight.

Day 2

Yerevan City tour – Echmiadzin – Zvartnots – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Walking tour across the main streets, the Opera House, the Republic Square. Visit the Mother Armenia Monument. Here you can enjoy the view of Yerevan from the above. Visit Matenadaran – one of the largest depositories of ancient manuscripts in the world. Departure to Echmiadzin, which is the center of Armenian Apostolic Church. Return to Yerevan with a stop at the ruins of Zvartnots temple – the pearl of the 7th c. architecture. Overnight.

Day 3

Khor Virap – Noravank – Jermuk (overnight)

Breakfast at the hotel. Tour to Khor Virap monastery (4- 17th century) where Grigor the Illuminator was held in captivity for 40 years for his effort in introducing Christianity to Armenia. Continue tour to Noravank monastery – a great religious and cultural center of 12th c. Depart for Jermuk – one of our popular resorts. Overnight.

Your Plan

Breakfast at the hotel. Short walking tour in Jermuk. Continue your walking adventure in Southern Armenia. Smbataberd, a well-preserved medieval citadel built by King Smbat (12 km round trip). The setting of Smbataberd is perhaps the most beautiful in Armenia, with Arpi river valley at your feet. Overnight in Jermuk.

Day 5

Shake waterfall - Tatev Monastery - Devil’s Bridge – Goris

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the vicinity where you will see Shake Waterfall. Afterwards trip to Tatev Monastery which is itself is a sight to visit. Tatev Monastery was founded in the 9th century. Here you will not only feel the spiritual atmosphere but also have the chance to use the longest ropeway in the world – “the Wings of Tatev”. Beneath the monastery you will see the “Devil’s Bridge”. Overnight in Goris.

Day 6

Kharahunj – Khndzoresk – Goris

Breakfast at the hotel. Tour to one of the best known and most interesting archaeological landmarks in Armenia – Karahunj, often called Zorats Karer. According to alternative theory this is world’s oldest astronomical observatory, built in the 6th millennial BC. On the east side of Goris is Khndoresk. It is an ancient cave settlement which remained occupied until a few decades ago. The nature here is just marvelous. Overnight in Goris.

Day 7

Goris – Ukhtasar – Yerevan

Breakfast at hotel. Trip to Ukhtasar – an Armenian mountain believed to be a holy place. It is situated 20 Km north of Sisian, at 3330 meters above sea level. It is famous worldwide due to numerous prehistoric images depicted on the rocks. Return back to Yerevan. Overnight.

Departure day

Transfer to the airport.
