Yerevan transforms into a hub for beer enthusiasts every July with the Yerevan Beer Fest, an event that showcases the rich, nearly three-thousand-year history of Armenian brewing. Held at the scenic Swan Lake, the festival attracts over 4,000 visitors and features the finest from local beer producers, restaurants, cafes, and pubs, all celebrating the craft and culture of beer in Armenia.
The festival's mission is to highlight Armenian beer varieties and foster a community among the nation's brewers. Attendees enjoy a range of playful contests like the fastest beer drinking, straw sipping competitions, sausage tastings, peanut peeling races, and crayfish eating challenges, adding a fun and competitive edge to the festivities.
Visitors to Yerevan during this period can also explore the city's rich history and architecture through guided tours, including visits to the ancient manuscripts at Matenadaran, the spiritual heart of Echmiadzin, and the architectural marvel of Zvartnots Temple, all UNESCO listed sites. The itinerary includes a trip to Geghard Monastery and Garni Temple, offering a blend of spiritual and historical exploration against the backdrop of Armenia's stunning landscapes.

July “Yerevan Beer Fest”, organized within the frames of the three-month municipal program of events “Yerevan summer”, gathers beer fans in the area of Swan Lake, which is a decorative pond. The best traditions of Armenian brewery, almost three-thousand-year history of brewery are presented by the leading beer producers at the Armenian market, beer restaurants, cafes and pubs of the capital.
The number of visitors during previous years was more than 4000. The aim of Yerevan Beer Fest is to introduce the specialties of Armenian beer and brewery and to unite Armenian beer producing companies on one platform.
During the festival numerous contests are held such as fastest beer drinking, drinking fastest with a straw, tasting sausages, fastest peanut peeling, fastest crayfish eating and other contests.
Itineraries
Day 1
Arrival at Yerevan
Meeting at “Zvartnots” International airport. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 2
Yerevan City tour – Echmiadzin – Zvartnots – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Yerevan City tour: main streets, the Republic Square, the Opera house, the monument, Matenadaran- the oldest depository of ancient manuscripts and a research institute. Trip to Echmiadzin – the spiritual center of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the residence of the Catholicos of Armenians. Afterwards, you will be guided to the ruins of the temple of Zvartnots (VII c.) which is a masterpiece of the Armenian architecture. Holy Echmiadzin and the Temple of Zvartnots are listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Ride back to Yerevan. Overnight.
Day 3
Yerevan – Geghard – Garni – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. A tour to Geghard, another incredible ancient Armenian monastery, entirely carved out of a mountain, will be followed by a visit to the magnificent “temple of the Sun” in Garni, the only pagan temple in Armenia, where you can admire the unique mosaic baths and ruins of the Royal palace. There will also be stop at “Charents Arch” with a stunning view to Mount Ararat. Return back to Yerevan. Participation at Beer fest. The participants will be beer producers and beer clubs. Every year the number of visitors increases and the organizers intend to have this fest as a “brand”. During the celebration different bands participate, contests are organized as well as prizes are given. Overnight.
Day 4
Museum after Parajanov – Khor Virap – Noravank - Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to Parajanov Museum. Afterwards, you will be led through the plains of the Ararat valley to the magnificent monastery of Khor Virap, set against the backdrop of towering Mount Ararat. The monastery is a place of pilgrimage and is the site of the prison where St. Gregory the Illuminator (who brought Christianity to Armenia in 301 AD) was imprisoned. You will also visit Noravank – one of the most beautiful monasteries (10 -14 c.).
Return back to Yerevan. Overnight.
Day 5
Departure day
Transfer to the airport.
